The life so short, the craft so long to learn--Hippocrates
On our five hour drive up to the lake cabin, I was thinking about just
getting there. The kids kept saying,
I can't wait until we're there!
And then I'd look at the beautiful scenery; the moment at which the traffic becomes thinner and pine and birch trees thicker...that's how you know you're up North; the trees, the smell, the frequency of lakes.
And yes, the destination is important, but the journey to get there is just as important.
Stop and enjoy the sights.
Look for license plates from different states.
Look for fields of wildflowers.
Turn up the music and dance in your seat and sing like no one else is listening.
And this is what I'm learning about life. It's about the journey; the tiniest of moments; the smiles; the little flickers of joy throughout a mundane day.
Yes, the
big stuff is important, but it's not
the most important.
Life is short...
so enjoy your journey...
spend it happy...
spend it smiling...
spend it laughing and dancing and singing like no one else is listening.
