Our Thankful Tree, inspired by this post, is not nearly as beautiful or color coordinating or perfect as hers, but it was made with love and happy helpers and happy hearts.
Here's what we did...
We (the girls and I) collected our branches and put them just so in a mason jar and tied a ribbon around it...
not that the boys couldn't have helped, but they are more into sword fighting with the sticks, so we left them out of that part.
I collected our list of thankful fors from all of the family members and wrote them on some tags...
and my happy helper tied them to the branches.
Of course, our lists included the big stuff; the things like family and our home (and my camera); but it also included things like good teachers (Anna), and good friends (Jacob), and pizza (Camden), and baby dolls (Katelyn), and family bike rides and good health and, and, and...the list kept going and it made my heart happy to be writing what really mattered on our little cards and giving us a reminder that we are so very, truly blessed.
We finished it. It is beautiful to us...
and sits right on top of our dusty T.V. where it will remain for a very long while.
What a fun and creative idea! It turned out beautifully!
